By Chris Crum at WebproNews:
A source tells us in an email that November 5th (Tuesday) is the “big day” for Google Helpouts. Android Police is also reporting via an anonymous tipster that the public launch will be that day, including a notification that was reportedly sent to some who have already had their “Helpouts” approved by the company.
The text of that is as follows:
We’ve got an update for you (and only you, so please don’t spread the word just yet!): we’re opening Helpouts to the public in one week on Tuesday, November 5.
We’re excited to have you onboard as one of our first Helpouts providers and to partner with you on building this new, community-driven marketplace for giving and getting help.
To get your ready for next week, we’re mking our website privately accessible to you so that you can take some necessary steps before we go live…
We first heard about Helpouts back in July, but a month later, an official landing page became public, taking invites from those interested. On the page, Google describes the service as:
Real help from real people in real time. Helpouts is a new way to connect people who need help with people who can give help, over live video, anytime, anywhere.
We should be learning even more about it, including some of the initial “helpers” very soon. Stay tuned.
