Social payments service Venmo has rolled out an update for its iPhone app. New features include an extra security measure, faster Foursquare check-ins and the option to scan your credit card details using the camera on your smartphone.
The app now has a passcode lock feature, which will make it more difficult for anyone who picks up your phone to access the Venmo app. This was the most requested feature among Venmo users for the app.
Faster Foursquare check-ins will allow you to keep track of what you’re spending and where. It will now be easier for you to share payments you make at places by tapping the Venmo checkbox when you check-in.
With this update, Venmo has added a cool little feature that lets you add a debit or credit card to your account simply by taking a photo of it. To add a new card, tap the Credit Cards button in your Settings and then tap the “+” button.
Venmo has also made some bug fixes and improvements elsewhere within the app, such as options to manage text and email notifications and improved Facebook Connect integration.
You can check out the latest version of the Venmo app on your iPhone now.
