iPhone Photography Applications at their Best to Serve You

iPhone Photography applications are being search much more than they were before, because of the improvements in iDevices. Photography being my own passion, makes the photography section of App Store my favourite place. Prior to the improvement, now everyone has a beast in their hands too, because of the new technology in the cameras of iPhones. These high functions and support makes iPhone Photography rise to another level indeed. And thus the apps number for iPhone Photography has started to increase from sometime and are much appreciable.
There are hundreds and thousands of apps for iPhone Photography, but being myself a photography, I know which apps serve our needs the best, and hence I tried to compile up a list of all those apps that are really worthy to be installed. Some of these are free, while some are to be bought, but their price is just not more than $2 at most.

360: TeliportMe Brings Its Killer Panorama App To Android (Oh, And It Works On Over 200 Phones)

Last November, TechCrunch’s own Sarah Lacy sat down with Vineet Devaiah from “social streetview” startup, Phototour.in, which, at the time, had just received term sheets from a number of high-profile U.S. investors and had recently been awarded the “Top Emerging Technology Company of 2010″ by Nvidia. The startup was the first international, non-funded, under-20-member company to win the award, according to Devaiah.
Since then, Phototour added Academy Award certificate-winner and entrepreneur Bala S. Manian as an advisor (who was honored for “technical achievement” for his contributions to optical technologies used in films, including Star Wars) and has gained more than 47,000 users for the alpha version of its image and panorama crowdsourcing app, “360″, on Android. Users have logged more than 75,000 panoramas in a relatively short period of time,

Facebook today is launching a "bug bounty" program, Rewards starting at $500 or more

Facebook today is launching a "bug bounty" program where it will pay researchers who find bugs and vulnerabilities in Facebook and report it to the company to be fixed. Developers who find bugs and report them to Facebook through its "Responsible Disclosure Policy" will be rewarded starting $500 or more, with no cap on how big a bounty developers can harvest.
Facebook follows in the footsteps of Google and Mozilla that also have bug bounty programs. Mozilla offers up to $3,000 for bugs found within its open-source software such as Firefox and Google offers between $500 and $1,337 (a number associated with geek lexicon " leet speak" created in the 1980s).

Apple has more cash on hand than U.S. government

I don’t know if this is more of a statement on how ridiculously rich Apple has become, or the harsh state of the American economy, but if the math adds up, the U.S. government has an operating balance of $73.768 billion, while the maker of iPhone and various other silky-smooth gadgets has $75.876 billion in the bank according to the last quarterly results. Of course, the economies of international corporations and entire nations vary significantly, making a direct comparison a bit unfair, but it does put things into perspective. As far as worldwide market cap goes, Apple is the second-biggest company in the world, after oil behemoth Exxon Mobil.

DealBurner Notifies You Of Groupon, LivingSocial, Scoutmob Daily Deal Info When You Check-in With Foursquare

With a vast number of daily deals companies vying for your attention, it is often easy to miss out on deals that you are interested in for places that you visit regularly. To try and solve that problem, a service called DealBurner has been launched that lets you know if there are any daily deals at a venue you have checked-in to using Foursquare or Facebook Places.
DealBurner is a relatively straightforward service that sends you a text message when you check-in at a location that is currently offering a daily deal.

View flash based content on your iPhone or iPad devices with Skyfire's VideoQ

Skyfire has released VideoQ, an inexpensive app that lets iPhone and iPad users do something they've wanted to do for years: play Adobe Flash video. Apple has said repeatedly that it's never going to add this feature to the iOS.
This software developer already makes a web browser with this ability, but its new app costs less and focuses on just video playback.
Skyfire can't modify Apple's Safari browser to enable it to play embedded Flash video, so users have to forward their previously unwatchable videos to the app. They can paste a Web link into the app, email the Web link to their unique VideoQ email address, or install a bookmarklet, which forwards videos to the VideoQ app for later watching.

Amazon inks streaming deal with NBCUniversal

Amazon announced on Thursday that it has inked an agreement with NBCUniversal to provide its subscription customers with access to 1,000 Universal Pictures movies. The deal is in addition to the online retailer’s recent agreement with CBS to offer shows such as Star Trek and Cheers to its customers.

Does Apple have any interest in buying Barnes & Noble?

We received a tip from an unproven source claiming to have knowledge of discussions within Apple to possibly purchase Barnes & Noble. While this might seem like a strange move at first, it actually makes a whole lot of sense. Apple would be able to take Barnes & Noble’s vast digital library of books and publications, and fold them into Apple’s own iBooks store. Apple would have no use for the NOOK, and that would likely be discontinued in this scenario.

Foursquare's Daily Deals Partnerships Going Live This Weekend, Including Groupon

According to reports, the partnership between the daily deals service and location check-in platform Foursquare is launching today in select locations. As reported in late May, the two companies have been in talks and it looks like an accord has finally been reached that will integrate the deals service into the "Explore" tab in the Foursquare app.
It is a big push in Groupon's push for customer acquisition, which the company spends a lot of money on, according to its S-1 it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to go public. Foursquare has upwards of 10 million registered users and has been aggressively pursuing daily deals a monetization efforts over the past month. The two companies will split revenue from deals acquired through the partnership.

BBC iPlayer goes global via an iPad app, will cost €7 per month or €50 per year

Similar to how Americans have Hulu, British people have iPlayer, but unlike the garbage on American television, British people enjoy some of the best programming that has ever hit a television screen. Cultural judgements aside, the one bad thing about iPlayer is that it doesn’t work outside the land of fish, chips, and pub culture. Today that changes thanks to an iPad application that will be made available in 11 Western European counties*. To get iPlayer working, you’re going to have to cough up €7 per month or €50 per year, which frankly isn’t that bad considering that you’ll get access to a wealth of documentaries,

Online Game Company Nexon Launches Facebook Game, ‘MapleStory Adventures’

Online gaming company Nexon has launched a Facebook version of its hugely popular game “MapleStory.” The social version of the game, which is called “MapleStory Adventures,” marks the first time that Nexon has branched out into Facebook games.
“MapleStory Adventures” takes the elements that made “MapleStory” a massive global hit — it has more than 100 million players all over the world — to the Facebook platform. The colorful, anime-style game offers action-orientated gameplay and engaging storylines, just like in “MapleStory.” However, the game has been simplified slightly to allow for shorter bursts of gameplay.

BlackBerry Messenger 6.0 available today – BBM Social, and new sharing options front and center

After some whispers of a launch, RIM’s instant messenging client BlackBerry Messenger has been updated to version 6.0. Since this has been in beta for awhile now, we’re already well-acquainted with many of the features. First and foremost is BBM Social connectivity, which lets third-party apps interact with BlackBerry Messenger contacts and profiles.

INFOGRAPHIC: What Kind Of High School Student Stereotype Is Your Favorite Social Network?

If social networks were high school students, what kind of kids would they have been? Who would have been voted most popular, most artistic and most likely to succeed? Would Skype and Facebook have been voted class couple?
Earlier in April we brought you the Social Media Class of 2011 yearbook, but now Google+ has moved to town and shaken up Social Media High. According to this infographic by ClassFinders, If Google+ was a high school student, she’d be the hot new girl that has everyone talking. In just 3 weeks the service has garnered over 18 million users — that’s quite impressive.

Google Shopper 1.5 for iPhone shows you where the nearest deals are; US and UK only

Coupons used to be something your mother and grandmother clipped from the Sunday paper while you watched cartoons growing up, but today they’re serious business. Groupon might not have been the first to start the whole internet coupon phenomenon, but they’re certainly the poster child for the movement, with more clones being created than we care to count. One such clone is “Google Shopper”, which just got updated to version 1.5 for the iPhone, and with it comes a whole new way to save you money.

Zynga Teams Up With Tencent To Launch ‘Zynga City,’ Chinese Version Of CityVille

Zynga’s CityVille, the biggest social game on Facebook with more than 90 million monthly players, has taken Facebook by storm and is available in a number of different languages, but the popular social game has yet to hit places that don’t have access to Facebook — at least until now. Zynga has partnered up with Tencent, China’s leading Internet service company, to launch a region-specific version of the game called “Zynga City.”

Venmo Updates iPhone App, Adds Option To Add Credit Card With Photo, Faster Foursqaure Check-ins And More

Social payments service Venmo has rolled out an update for its iPhone app. New features include an extra security measure, faster Foursquare check-ins and the option to scan your credit card details using the camera on your smartphone.
The app now has a passcode lock feature, which will make it more difficult for anyone who picks up your phone to access the Venmo app. This was the most requested feature among Venmo users for the app.

Facebook In Talks With Developers To Bring Credits To Mobile Web Browsers

Facebook is apparently in talks with third-party developers to allow them to sell virtual goods within mobile Web browsers using Facebook’s Credits currency. The initiative is being mooted as a way of increasing revenue from tablet devices and smartphones.
If given the go-ahead, the plan would allow developers to use credits in apps accessed over the mobile Web, according to BusinessWeek. When users buy virtual goods in Facebook games and apps using credits, Facebook takes a 30 percent cut of the revenue that is generated.
It appears that these talks may be taking place as part of Facebook’s Project Spartan mobile effort. The project is said to be a way for Facebook to bypass Apple‘s App Store on iPhone and iPad devices and Google‘s Android Market on Android devices so that Facebook could have complete control over its platform on these devices. This would allow Facebook to take a cut of the revenue that owners of those devices would normally spend on apps by launching and monetizing games and other apps on its mobile Web platform.

Avatar Kinect hits Xbox Live, your own virtual talk show starts today

Microsoft has been touting Avatar Kinect, since CES way back in January, and you can now finally it try out for yourself. The Kinect Fun Labs Gadget is available as a free download for all Xbox Live Gold members starting today, and even non-paying Live members can try it out during a limited trial that runs until September 8th. So just what is it? Partly a tech demo showing off things like new facial expression capabilities, but mostly another way for you to hangout with a few friends online -- up to seven in this case, in your choice of 24 virtual environments. Ustream Lands On The iPad, Gives Couch Potatoes The Perfect Soapbox

Ustream has landed on the iPad.
Today, the streaming video service has launched its first iPad-optimized app, allowing users to view live and recorded content streaming through the service — and to stream their own footage direct from their iPad 2. You can grab the app right here.
iPads are obviously well-suited for lounging — and Ustream is expecting that plenty of people will take advantage of the app to stream their thoughts direct from their couches (in other words, don’t be surprised if you see a bunch of new talking head streams pop up as people react to what they just watched on the news or after a sporting event).

The Official Tour De France Mobile game is now available for Android and Blackberry

The official Tour de France mobile game is no longer something reserved for the iPhone and iPod Touch users – Android and BlackBerry smartphone owners can now join the party, too. The game is true to the original event, allowing you to assemble and manage a team of real cyclists competing in the Tour, including the current yellow jersey holder Thomas Voeckler and/or green jersey holder Mark Cavendish. That team should be comprised of riders with different styles — rouleur, baroudeur, sprinter and climber — to be able to win most if not all rounds.

Android tablet population estimated at 1.2 million

While nobody would argue that Android smartphones are abundant these days, the situation with tablets running Google's mobile platform might not be so bright. According to an estimate given by the guys over at Daring Fireball, there may be as little as 1.17 million Android tablets currently in use worldwide.

Mozilla building an open-source OS for smartphones and tablets

The browser wars have been around for almost as long as the Internet has, but while some mainstream desktop browsers like Safari and Internet Explorer have their own mobile versions backed up by a mobile platform, Firefox is on its own with no operating system behind it. Mozilla, the corporation developing it, however has envisioned a “complete, stand-alone operating system for the Web” named Boot to Gecko, abbreviated as B2G. The platform is specifically made for mobile devices.

Google Books back on the shelf in Apple App Store

Google Books is back in the Apple App Store following its revamp for the iPhone and iPad. Amazon's Kindle app has had a refresh too, now selling magazine and newspaper subscriptions.
Google's ebook app disappeared from the App Store for a day as the Big G updated the app to comply with Apple's new rules. Apps selling content such as ebooks can no longer send users outside the app to make a purchase. Instead users must either make a purchase through iTunes, earning Apple a 30 per cent cut, or through their browser, in which case Apple doesn't get a bean.

Netflix Reveals Facebook Integration Is Coming Soon, But US Users Will Have To Wait

Netflix released its Q2 earnings report Monday and the company has revealed that integration with Facebook is on the way and that it will probably be launched before the next earnings report is released.
However, you might be a little out of luck if you are a Netflix user based in the U.S. as the integration will not be available in the country at first. Due to legal complications regarding video sharing data, Netflix will be initially launching the Facebook integration in Canada and Latin America.

Android's UK market share explodes as Apple overtakes Symbian

Look at the chart above and you'll see two things happening. First, Apple has overtaken Symbian to become the top smartphone platform in the UK (with a 27 percent market share).

Hugo Chavez Is Running Venezuela Through Twitter

By Lauren Dugan: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is using Twitter as a tool to govern his country remotely from Cuba, as he undergoes medical treatments. He has tweeted more than 40 times since Monday, issuing orders for building a new park and approving the funding of a trash collection project.

When I wrote a speculative piece about how someone could run a country using only Twitter, I didn’t think I’d actually see it happen. I hypothesized that a lot could be done without having to go beyond 140-characters: elections could be held, platforms tweeted, pictures of meetings with other heads of state posted, and even criminals could be caught with Twitter.

RIM acquires online video editing suite JayCut

RIM is expanding their presence in Sweden after picking up The Astonishing Tribe last year. The maker of BlackBerry has just acquired JayCut, a small company in Stockholm that has been quietly working on a web-based video editing service for the last couple of years.

Google+ iPhone app rockets to top of charts

You know, there might be something to this Google+ social networking thing. About a day after the Google+ iPhone app landed, the program has sky-rocketed to the top of the free list in the App Store.
With at least 10 million early tech adopters on it, it’s no surprise that the Google+ iPhone app has been such a rapid success.

REPORT: Spotify Hits 70,000 Paid Subscribers In The US, Hits Mark After 1 Week

After launching in the U.S. only a week ago, Spotify reportedly has 70,000 paid users.
Over the last week, invites have been a hot ticket and many companies were giving them out for free accounts and trials of paid subscriptions. It seems like all the buzz and the long wait for a U.S. launch is starting to pay off for the service. According to Billboard, 3 label and publishing executives confirmed that Spotify had hit the 70,000 subscriber mark.
After a difficult launch process where Spotify struggled to secure contracts with major record labels, they’re very pleased with their success. Angela Watts, VP of Marketing for Spotify, said:
The launch of Spotify in the US has exceeded our expectations in both the response to invitations for the free service as well as subscriptions. We aren’t going to discuss numbers at this stage but we are excited to be here and confident that Americans will love Spotify as much as they already do in Europe.

How to install third-party Android apps on the BlackBerry PlayBook

Yesterday an early build of the Android app player leaked for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and though it’s not quite ready for prime-time, the daring and adventurous are welcome to check it out. RIM has warned against using it, but if you’d like to throw caution to the wind, we’ve got full instructions on how to get third-party Android apps up and running.

Google+ Hints Further At Games Network, Confirms Social Games Stream

Earlier on Friday we reported on the rumors that Google+ would be launching a games network. The network would allegedly offer faster performance for games and give developers a larger cut of the revenue than Facebook or Apple who both take a 30 percent cut.
Google+ has officially confirmed that there’s going to be a Games stream. However, they may have not intentionally confirmed the stream and there’s still no word on whether or not a games network is actually in the works.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 price in the UK is right at £30 per month

Prices for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 have leaked out by way of uSwitch.com. The website reports the thinnest BlackBerry ever will be free on a £30.64 contract from T-Mobile, or just over £35 from Orange, Vodafone and O2. Three will also be selling the phone, but its prices are still under wraps.
We're suckers for a traditional BlackBerry, because of its fabulous keyboard. If you're a keen typist and you'd rather fire off emails quickly than faff around with apps, a BlackBerry can't be beat.
The Bold 9900 manages to pack the keyboard onto the thinnest case yet, which is only 10.5mm thick. That's still chubbier than the thinnest touchscreen smart phones, like a 9.3mm iPhone 4. But for BlackBerry, it's positively waifish.

Google+ To Launch Game Network, Offers Developers Bigger Cut Of Revenue Than Facebook

Google is said to be preparing to launch a game network that would be integrated into Google+. The game network would offer developers a larger cut of revenue than Facebook and faster performance for their games.

Google+ To Open Its Doors To The Public On July 31

After a hugely successful limited field trial, in which it may have gained more than 18 million users, Google+ could be set to open its doors to the public on July 31.
The only way to gain access to Google+ right now is to grab an invite from another user or be given an invite by Google itself. However, Google+ could have its public launch before the end of the month.
A rumor that Google+ would have its public launch on July 31 originated on a Google+ Facebook Page. It is important to note, however, that this is not an official Google+ page as the 2 O’s in “Google” are zeroes in the URL, as pointed out by Business Insider.

Apple becomes the biggest smartphone maker, over 45% of its revenue comes from the iPhone

That might have sounded inevitable – but it happened quicker than many expected: Nokia has given away the number one spot to Apple, which is now the biggest smartphone maker in the world as the iPhone sold 20.3 million in the second quarter of the year, surpassing Nokia's 16.7 million smart Symbian handsets. The Finns have dominated the industry since 1996 when they kickstarted the smartphone market with their Communicators, but they've been quickly losing share recently.

Apple to make a bid for Hulu?

A couple of days ago we mentioned the UltraViolet cloud service which was basically like iTunes, except for movies and videos. It seemed like a pretty good idea as it would allow users to access their movies in the digital format on a variety of devices, all at one price.
Now it seems that there are rumors of Apple being in talks with Hulu to acquire the company and to provide five years of programming to the US networks and two years of exclusive rights to shows from Disney, News Corp and NBC Universal. Essentially if this deal goes through, it could very well be Apple’s answer to the iCloud for video.

Reddit Launches New Mobile Site, Optimized For Touch Screens

Reddit has launched a new version of their mobile website. They fixed some major errors and bugs that were reported by users and took users’ advice when rolling out some of the site’s new features.
Starting Thursday, users who load Reddit on their mobile devices will receive a notice to upgrade to the new version of the site. Like the previous version, the new site is still optimized for devices that run on WebKit only, so browsers like the mobile Internet Explorer will not properly load Reddit.

Windows Phone Mango App Submissions Begin in August, New App Hub Now Launched

Microsoft has announced that developers building mobile applications for its next big release of the Windows Phone operating system, code-named "Mango," will be able to submit those applications to its app marketplace starting in August. Or more specifically, August 22nd.
This news comes at the same time as a rollout of an updated developer portal is underway. The new "App Hub" will support more geographic markets, private distribution options and will offer better application and account management capabilities.

Nokia Maps hits iOS and Android

Nokia might have a hard time selling phones recently, but its mapping software has remained one of the company's strengths. Actually, that's one of the features that Microsoft plans to integrate in Windows Phone, but curiously enough, Nokia hasn't settled there and is working on an HTML5-version of Nokia Maps.

Android app player for BlackBerry PlayBook leaked

RIM has been talking about supporting Android applications on the BlackBerry PlayBook for a couple of months now, and like many worthwhile features, it’s taking awhile to get here. Luckily, an early version of the Android app player has leaked out for us to try.  The eventual goal is to have developers submit their Android creations to BlackBerry App World, where they would be sold alongside any other PlayBook app. Here’s a video demo RIM gave showing some basic apps in action.

Sky Go app hits iPhone and iPad

Sky Go is in the Apple App Store. You can now watch and record Sky TV on your iPhone or iPad wherever you are, live as nature intended and all in plenty of time for the start of the football season next month.

Facebook Rolls Out Photo, Video And Link Previews In Comments

Facebook has started to roll out a link preview feature for comments, according to The Next Web. Any time that you post a link in a comment, you will now be able to view a preview of the photo, video or website that is being linked to.
Until now, any time that you pasted a link into a comment, it would remain as a straightforward URL. Instead, the link previews let you view a thumbnail image of the website that is being linked to, along with a short description of the website where one is available. In addition, if you post a link to a photo or video in your comment, a preview for that media will be available too, with YouTube videos available to view directly from the comment.

Lenovo reveals 10.1-inch Windows 7-powered IdeaPad P1 with an Intel chip

Lenovo has unveiled two Honeycomb tablets, but that's not all, folks – the company hasn't forgotten Windows 7 fans and brought the 10.1-inch IdeaPad P1 with Microsoft's operating system. An Intel chip powers the IdeaPad P1, instead of the nearly ubiquitous ARM-based processors, but it aims to deliver the same if not better kick paired with up to 2GB of RAM and a choice of 32GB or 64GB of SSD memory. The biggest problem with Intel's chips lies in power management, but this time the company seems to have nailed it with battery life reaching up to 6 hours.
